Hola todos,

Up for sale is our trusty 2000 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 camper conversion (we've named him Trucko).
We have driven it from Washington state, up to Canada and then down to Costa Rica.
Originally the plan was to go down all the way to Argentina/Chile but unfortunately the trip is over due to unforeseen circumstances, unrelated to the truck.

The truck is in awesome shape, we spent 4 months prior to the start of the trip taking care of all mechanical issues and upgrades. We've had zero mechanical problems aside from regular maintenance on the road.

We have gotten a lot of compliments about how the truck does not stand out (aside from the USA license plates) in Central America. It does not look like a huge RV or an obvious camper van, there are Toyotas everywhere here and it's been real nice to be inconspicuous.

You can find a little bit about our trip on: OverRockAndUnderTree
It hasn't been updated in a VERY long time, but it does give you an idea

The price is $13000, with everything included.

The car, and work done before starting the trip:

  1. 2000 Toyota Tacoma, with about 122000 miles (I still drive it here in Costa Rica)
  2. 4x4 transmission, with low gears that can get you virtually anywhere.
  3. 33'' BFGoodrich KO2 tires (http://www.bfgoodrichtires.ca/tire-s...oad-tires/all-...)
  4. Bull bar
  5. 120W LED light bar. This has been my favourite and most useful upgrade. From driving in pitch black Colorado 4 wheel drive roads to handling sketchy pothole ridden central american streets. We do try to avoid driving at night here, but that is not always possible.
  6. 3M Automotive Tinted Window Film, Security Series. Just watch this video:
. We have this film on the passenger windows as well as the rear window on the canopy.
  7. Roof rack that has stored shovels, snowboards, surboards, etc.
  8. Insulated and carpeted interior! We have slept in Canada's mountains in February while it was -8°C outside. Winter sleeping bags are not necessary, and I got by just fine under a nice layer of blankets (included). We have also slept in the scorching Mexico sun. In very hot climates I have come to prefer sleeping in the tent (also included).
  9. Flushed coolant fluids replaced with fresh Toyota coolant.
  10. Replaced radiator hoses with new Toyota parts while flushing the coolant.
  11. Original Toyota oil filters and synthetic 5w30 Royal Purple oil. On the road, oil changes have been Royal Purple as well, but any good synthetic oil will be fine.
  12. Replaced transmission fluids with Redline MT-90 oil
  13. Replaced the front/rear differential and transfer case fluids with Redline 75w90 oil.
  14. Walker Exhaust 47741 Quiet Flow Muffler (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o08_s...). The old muffler was rusty and needed to be replaced.
  15. New spark plug wires and spark plugs.
  16. Brand new cast iron exhaust manifold. The old manifold was cracked, this is a known problem with 2nd gen Tacomas and ours was not an exception (http://www.ttora.com/forum/6-perform...4313-2-7-exhau...). Spending extended periods of time in the truck with potential toxic gases around was not appealing!
  17. Extra security for the back door on the canopy, there is no way anyone is breaking in without some serious and LOUD tools.
  18. Extra hidden key in a secret spot. I've been a little paranoid about losing my keys with no way to get back into the truck while in the middle of nowhere.
  19. Hidden kill switch for the fuel pump in a secret spot. If I am leaving the truck for an extended periods of time, or parking in a sketchy area, I kill the power to the fuel pump. If someone was to break into the cab and try to start the truck, it will die in a few seconds with no fuel

  20. Completely waterproof over many rains all over central america.
  21. Brand new un-opened OEM toyota break pads. We were told our would need to be replaced in a month or so, and I bought a new set when passing by a Toyota dealership in Leberia.

What else you are getting:
  1. 500W power inverter for charging laptops, etc.
  2. HiLift 48'' Black cast steel jack (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o00_s...)
  3. Hi-Lift Jack LM-100 Lift-Mate (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o01_s...)
  4. Hi-Lift Jack ORK Off-Road Kit (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o01_s...)
  5. NOCO Genius Boost GB30 12V UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o08_s...). Also doubles as a flashlight and a USB device charger. It is able to start the truck without a battery attached whatsoever!
  6. Bluetooth speaker
  7. The Club 3000 Twin Hooks Steering Wheel Lock (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o03_s...)
  8. Spare set of headlights: SYLVANIA 9003/H4 SilverStar Ultra Halogen Headlight Bulb (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o05_s...)
  9. Nemo Equipment Helio Pressure Shower (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o06_s...)
  10. Stansport 25000 B.T.U 2-burner propane stove (2-BURNER PROPANE STOVE). Big enough to handle big pots and very easy to cook with low heat as well.
  11. 1 Gallon steel propane cylinder (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...tailpage_o09_s...). Not a massive regular BBQ probane cylinder but still lasts us quite a while: 2-3 weeks of cooking every day while in winter climates. We've lost track of when was the last time we've filled it up in warmer central america.
  12. A 3-person REI ASL tent (https://www.rei.com/product/794285/r...ete-3-asl-tent)
  13. Two Mad Rock R3 bouldering pads (http://www.madrockclimbing.com/produ...p?_item=100111). These are the "mattresses" we sleep on, but they are also rock climbing crash pads, any climbers out there? We made some washable cloth covers for the crash pads to keep things hygienic.
  14. Reflective triangles, police have been known to ask for them in hopes of giving you a fine if you don't have these (we've had no such incidents).
  15. A whole bucket of misc car parts, tools, etc.
  16. Enough storage space for your things (within reasonable amounts :p). We took out two full 70 litre backpacks, a smaller backback and a bunch of other random stuff.
  17. A saw, a machete and a shovel.

I am currently in Costa Rica for the next month or so and if there is no interest I may store it in Costa Rica for some time or ship it back to the USA. Happy to discuss details with you and provide support on logistics, crossing borders, shipping it to Colombia, etc.
