Kenya, equator just south of Nanyuki

Read the original post and follow FamilyinAfrica's overland adventures on their website: familyinafrica.

We stopped just south of Nanuki after having lunch at the lovely Nanyuki airport, you must stop there as it’s a great lunch spot! We came across a couple of guys who had an earn of Water and was demonstrating the direction of water draining in both the north and south hemisphere.

The test seemed a little out, until we discovered that on the GPS unit, the equator was actually 30-30 metres up the road. It seemed the earn was placed close to a small market stall which suited on of the stall operators and hence not up the road on “X” marks the spot.
