As of now the Thai customs are enforcing the Permit and Guide law for Overlanders that want to enter Thailand, at the Mae Sot (Thailand) / Myawaddy (Myanmar) border, but the Mae Sai (Thailand) / Tachilek (Myanmar) is still an easy border to cross into Thailand without guide or permit, providing you have the correct documents and vehicle insurance.
Make sure that your Myanmar Guide knows that you want to cross at Mae Sai (Thailand) / Tachilek (Myanmar) border. If anybody needs help with insurance to drive on Thai roads I will try to help.

Hello Dave, i plan to cross Thaïlande from Myanmar as you wrote before. So i’ll need help for the insurance and permit if you may give a hand .

Hi,

Could you please confirm my understanding that we don't need CDP to enter into both these countries?

Thanks
