Latest update: Summary - a hurricane warning is now in place for parts of Cuba and the Cuban Government has announced that the Provinces of the east of Cuba (Camaguey to Guantanamo) are in a state of Alarm as Hurricane Matthew is approaching. It is probable that electricity will be cut in some areas as a precaution and communication equipment will be unreliable. Hurricane Matthew is forecast to bring hazardous sea and weather conditions to parts of Cuba from around 3 October 2016. The Civil Aviation Corporation in Cuba closed airports east of Camaguey on 2 October. Contact airlines or tour operators to confirm future travel arrangements. Follow the advice of the local authorities.
