We are Piritta and Niina from Finland and we are first-time overlanders. However, after leaving our corporate/traditional jobs in mid-2018, we've been practically living in Southern Africa since (mostly in Namibia) and we've been preparing for this journey from scratch.

Our project is called Expedition Conservation (https://expeditionconservation.org) with which we're now driving through Africa to help wildlife conservation.
Wildlife conservation issues have always been really close to our hearts and through this project, we've found a way we can help this important cause.
The current plan is to drive first up on the East coast of Africa and then back down, through Zambia to briefly stop by in Namibia again, and then upwards the West cost, thus avoiding Egypt (for it being too expensive for us).

We have a 2009 Land Rover Defender 110 2.4l Puma as a vehicle and so far it has already taken us more than 20 000 km zigzagging through Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Lesotho. We've already been through some magical places, like the deserts of Namibia, the Okavango Delta, the Kalahari – only to mention a few. We've also visited a few really great conservation projects.

We should've already been in Tanzania at the moment, but because of the Covid-19 outbreak in March/April (2020) when we were in South Africa, since then we have also been on a mandatory break from overlanding. But we are eagerly waiting for when we can continue on our odyssey for wildlife! Our car waits for us in RSA and then we'll continue according to the original plans towards Tanzania and onwards.

You can read more about our expedition and about the wildlife conservation projects, etc. from our website!
And please, don't be a stranger and come to say hi to us on social media, too! You'll find us on Facebook and Instagram by the name @ExpeditionConservation

Safe and happy travels to come for everyone!
