There are increasing reports of ATM fraud in Vienna, particularly around St Stephan's Cathedral. Look closely at the ATM and do not insert your card if anything looks suspicious (see Safety and security). The level of this advice has not changed. We continue to advise Australians to exercise normal safety precautions in Austria.
