In June 2016, Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council annulled the 2015 presidential elections and announced a new first round of elections. You should avoid all demonstrations and protests as they may turn violent (see Safety and Security). The level of the advice has not changed. We continue to advise Australians to exercise a high degree of caution in Haiti. Higher levels apply in some parts of the country.
