Latest update: Safety and security: Since Wednesday 5 July, areas of western Japan have been experiencing very heavy rainfall. This is forecast to continue, and the Japanese Meteorological Agency has issued a number of emergency heavy rain warnings and evacuation orders for parts of Kyushu. If you’re in the affected area you should monitor the local news and follow the instructions of the local authorities.
