There was flooding in parts of the Northern and Central regions of Malawi in April 2016, resulting in damage to road networks in affected districts. Travellers should take care in these areas, follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local news and weather forecasts when making travel plans (see Additional information).The level of this advice has not changed. We continue to advise Australians to exercise normal safety precautions in Malawi.
