Following closely contested presidential elections in December 2015, the result is being challenged by opposition groups. You should avoid any large public gatherings, demonstrations or protests as they have the potential to turn violent (see Safety and security). The level of this advice has not changed. We continue to advise Australians to exercise normal safety precautions in the Seychelles.
