This advice contains updated information for travellers to the USA who have been to Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen since 1 March 2011 (see Entry and exit). LGBTI travellers should be aware that they may be affected by legislation passed recently in North Carolina and Mississippi (see Laws). We continue to advise Australians to exercise normal safety precautions in the United States of America, including Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands.
